Molenstraat is a street in transformation, and definitely worth a visit if you want to get off the beaten track. You will find new store concepts by daredevils and go-getters, including so-called ‘Stadsfabriekjes’ (city factories). These are starter initiatives, encouraged by the City of Genk, to turn their creativity into businesses. On the street you can find The Gallery, an exhibition platform for artists. In turn, Genkse Shtijl immortalises typical Genk statements on t-shirts and sweaters, while at SiNon Store you can purchase vintage and industrial antiques. Molenstraat is certainly worth exploring.
