Ook de master studenten van Object &amp; Jewellery van PXL- MAD School of Arts tekenen er present. Zij brengen zelf verslag uit van wat je de juwelenmarathon van Munchen kan noemen.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p>De Munich Jewellery Week is voor het hedendaagse juweel wat het Salone del Mobile is voor design. De beurs werd in 1959 opgericht en vindt sindsdien elk jaar plaats in de Messe. Een typische beurs- en congrescentrum vergelijkbaar met Fiera Milano waar het Salone del Mobile elk zichzelf respecterend meubelmerk stand houden. In de Messe van Munchen loopt nu van 7 tot en met 13 maart de Internationale Handwerkmesse. E\u00e9n van de hallen focust op juwelen en presenteert drie bundelingen. Enerzijds Meister der Moderne en anderzijds het bekende\u00a0 \u2018Schmuck\u2019; het derde is een showcase van jonge talenten die door een curator worden gebundeld onder \u2018Talente\u2019.<\/p>\n<p><b>Drukvat<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Doordat de hele wereld van het hedendaagse juweel &#8211; van toonaangevende ontwerpers tot gerenommeerde galeristen en internationale kunstscholen &#8211; tijdens die ene week samenpakt in Munchen werkt dat als een drukvat naar analogie met het Salone del Mobile. Iedereen trekt naar Munchen om er bij te zijn en is de stad in de ban van het Juweel waardoor allerhande nevenprogramma\u2019s ontstaan. Net zoals Salone Satellite de druk van het designcircus voor een stuk weghaalde van de beurssite naar de stad, zo overkoepelt Munich Jewellery Week veel meer dan de presentaties in de Messe. Om het kluwen aan galeries, musea en tijdelijke locaties te ontwaren stond een tijd geleden de organisatie Current Obsession op. Twee dames, Marina Elenskaya en Sarah Mesritz, brachten onder Current Obsession alles netjes in kaart en ontwikkelden tegelijk een platform ter ondersteuning en promotie van het hedendaags juweel dat verder gaat dan Munchen alleen.<\/p>\n<p><b>The Lovelace<\/b><\/p>\n<p>E\u00e9n van de initiatieven van Current Obsession tijdens de zeven dagen durende juwelenmarathon van Munchen is een invulling The Lovelace. The Lovelace is een uniek hotel dat in 2017 opende in het centrum maar slechts tot 2019 als hotel mag gebruikt worden. Het omvat in totaal 4.800 m2 en profileert zich ook als een hotspot met allerhande evenementen en dus ook exposities. Het is net hier dat de master studenten van Object &amp; Jewellery van PXL- MAD School of Arts hun werk zullen tonen met een vaste presentatie.<\/p>\n<p>Vaste presentatie en niet mobiel zoals de masters voorgaande jaren deden. Toen liepen de master-studenten eerst met een soort van rugzak-vitrines doorheen de stad, een slimme vondst &#8211; onder impuls van docente G\u00e9sine Hackenberg &#8211; en nadien met lange jassen als MADexhibitionist rond wat hen toeliet om zelf te tonen en ondertussen zelf veel te zien. Het zette PXL-MAD wereldwijd op de kaart als interessante \u00e9n vernieuwende opleidingslocatie, ook al hebben andere scholen intussen dit idee overgenomen. Now she is doing her masters degree in Hasselt. In her work she is focussing on light and reflection and the relationship between body and the material.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b id=\"luisa\"><strong>Luisa Quartin<\/strong>\u00a0(20) &#8211; She first discovered jewellery when she was still in high school in Lisbon and after that went on to do her bachelor in jewellery and body ornaments at Alchimia Contemporary Jewellery school in Florence. At the moment she is focusing on transformation cycles and how everything has to come to an end for new things to take life. She works with daily objects and transforms them into jewellery pieces in a way that, in the future, they can be reused again.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b id=\"camille\"><strong>Camille El-Achkar\u00a0<\/strong>(27) &#8211; She finished her bachelor in Object and Jewellery in 2017 and is currently following the Master program.\u00a0In her pieces she is searching for the meaning of vanity in jewellery. By combining all kinds of materials she creates tactile and fragile pieces.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b id=\"gertjan\"><strong>Gertjan Vandezande<\/strong> (24) &#8211; After studying Architecture in highschool, he went on to scale things down and took up jewellery design and watchmaking. He has a hands-on mentality and looks into the material for inspiration.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b id=\"selien\"><strong>Selien Lips <\/strong>(22) &#8211;\u00a0She finished her bachelor degree at PXL-MAD in 2017. Now she&#8217;s doing her master. Characteristic for her work are constructions, lines, rhythm, a duality between the organic and the geometrical forms and the duality between light and shadow. Turning the tradition of jewellery into a personal, contemporary interpretation is the theme of her most recent work.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b id=\"hester\"><strong>Hester Daems<\/strong> &#8211; In her master project she focusses on the beauty of the inside of the human body, the shapes of the bones and the structure of it. she questions what is real and how you can change it with surgery.<\/b><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>De Munich Jewellery Week geldt als de belangrijkste beurs voor artistieke juweelkunst en is ieder jaar the place to be voor verzamelaars, ge\u00efnteresseerden, galeriehouders en ontwerpers.
