Dik Scheepers (Productdesign in Maastricht and Instrument Design in Leiden) does not like to repeat himself. He prefers to concentrate on a new field or a new technique each time: ‘I don’t want to keep repeating that same processes time and time again like an artisan; I’m a researcher.’ For Toegepast 16, Dik studied a material that is completely different and in many ways new in the design world: ‘I discovered papercrete, a relatively simple combination of paper and cement.’
