Geoffrey Brusatto
designer
Geoffrey Brusatto (b. 1979, Hasselt) is a graphic designer and ceramic artist. He launched his graphic studio BRUSATTO in 2004, based in Hasselt (CBE/KBO registration since 29 October 2001, no. 0696.558.384). He works mainly for cultural clients — Belgian and international — and teaches Graphic Design at PXL-MAD (Hasselt) and KASK School of Arts (Ghent).
PhD research & exhibition
On 4 September 2015 Brusatto defended his joint PhD Ways of Folding. Reconstructing the printed book (NL: De gevouwen structuur. De (her)opbouw van het gedrukte boek) at UHasselt. The research, conducted from 2008 to 2015 across UHasselt (PXL-MAD) and KU Leuven, was supervised by prof. Marjan Sterckx (UHasselt) and prof. Jan Baetens (KU Leuven). The accompanying exhibition opened on 19 June 2015 at Z33 (Hasselt) and ran until 11 October 2015 as a co-production of Z33 and the Frans Masereel Centrum, within the framework Can you feel it? Tactility and/in print curated by Freek Lomme.
Henry Van de Velde Awards publications
Brusatto designs the Henry Van de Velde Awards publications — a commission from Flanders District of Creativity (Flanders DC) together with VLAIO. Confirmed editions: Awards 21 (2021), 23 (2023), 25 (2025) and 26 (2026).
Ceramics
Alongside his graphic studio, Brusatto has been working as a ceramic artist for several years. He is co-author of Rond klei, a ceramics handbook on throwing, hand-building, glazing and firing (with Michelle Heylen and Melissa Milis), designed the visual identity for Mattes Tableware, and is co-founder / partner of JADE shop in eastern Belgium with Hanne Tournel. His ceramic portfolio is hosted at brusatto-c.be.
Book design
His book design work includes Bea Mombaers — items & interiors (Luster, 2020), with photography by Raf Maes.
Recognition
Brusatto was a laureate of Toegepast 8. His work is held in the collection of Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen (Rotterdam).
