Michaël Verheyden studied Industrial Design at the Media & Design Academy in his hometown of Genk, earning a Master’s degree in 2001. In 2002, Verheyden launched his own line of fashion accessories; at the time, he was best known for his handbag designs. In 2009, Verheyden broadened his scope to encompass interieor accessories and furniture. He works together with his wife, Saartje Vereecke. Verheyden’s aesthetic embraces simple geometric forms, minimalist lines, expert craftmanship, and rich, quality materials – leather, linen, bronze, brass, marble … Verheyden is a laureate of Toegepast 7.
