William Lutgens

William Ludwig Lutgens completed the post-academic residency program at HISK in Ghent in 2017 and has received multiple awards, including the 2020 Gaver Prize for Painting, the 2017 Eeckman Art Prize at Bozar, and the Brussels ArtContest Prize. He has participated in residencies such as the Nanji Residency at the Seoul Museum ofArt, the Internationale Cité des Arts in Paris, Kunstplaats VONK, FLACC, and Sala D’art Jove/Hangar in Barcelona. Recent solo exhibitions include De Garage/ Museum Hof van Busleyden in Mechelen, Expositieruimte 38CC in Delft, Galeri Kant in Copenhagen, PLUS-ONE Gallery in Antwerp, and 427 Gallery in Riga.
He has also participated in exhibitions at Museum Schunck, S.M.A.K., Sema Seoul, Kunstvereniging Diepenheim, Z33 House of Contemporary Art, De Warande, CIAP Kunstverein, and Surplus Space Wuhan. His work is exhibited internationally and is part of collections such as De Bruin-Heijn, SMAK Ghent, the Flemish Government, and numerous other collections. Lutgens lives and works in Antwerp, founded the Artist Run Space Red Herring Salon, is a member of Faar, and serves as a board member of the artists’ association NICC.
