100% Limburg Bike in de maak

Limburg is a cycling region and with that we don’t even talk about the cycling junction network. There is now mainly a large network of companies active in the bicycle industry. Think Belgian Cycling Factory with Ridley and Eddy Merckx as spearheads, but also Bioracer, all important players of Flanders Bike Valley. And now there is also cross-border cooperation on a 100% Limburg Bike.

The premise of 100% Limburg Bike is clear: a racing bike made entirely from Limburg components. This is a collaboration between various companies such as Belgian Cycling Factory, CeraCarbon racing, Mullens Sports & Health Innovations, Eurocarbon and KEMBIT. In their innovations they are assisted by Brightlands Chemelot Campus, Brightlands Materials Center and CHILL – Chemelot Innovation and Learning Labs as knowledge institutes, and the most interesting development focuses on 3D printed connectors, but also the integration of indestructible Dyneem fibres in the frame.

The project is supported by the European Union and is gradually reaching full speed. It is in any case looking forward to the 100% Limburg racing bike and hopefully these innovations and the knowledge will also seep through to the entire Limburg bike market. Why not a 100% Limburg bicycle (electric) with a capacity to complete the entire Limburg junction network in one day?
