Marina Yee

Marina Yee (1958–2025) was a Belgian fashion designer and one of the Antwerp Six. Her training began at Sint-Lucas in Belgian Limburg. In 1981 she graduated from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp.

Between 1986 and 1990 Yee showed her own label, Marie. In 1990 she stepped away from fashion and turned to teaching and visual art. She taught at ESA Saint-Luc Tournai, at KASK Ghent and at KABK in The Hague. From 1992 onwards she ran the small Indigo tea salon in the Marolles district of Brussels; she later settled in the Dansaert quarter.

In 2018 she returned to fashion with M.Y. Project, a collection of five designs presented in Tokyo. In 2021 she relaunched her work as M.Y. Collection, together with Rafaël Adriaensens. In 2024 she was awarded the Jury Prize at the Belgian Fashion Awards.

Marina Yee died on 1 November 2025, aged 67, of cancer.
