IDEM is more than just a ‘stool’, it is a basic module in which 11 identical oak beams are used and with which you can make different combinations into benches, side tables, bookshelves … The design by Frederik Delbart was created in 2011 and has been marketed since 2017 as a collaboration between FDDS – Frederik Delbart Design Studio – and Casimir Ateliers, the high-end furniture workshop of the other Limburg designer Casimir. This IDEM is one of the first prototypes and comes from the designer’s archive. Which makes this a very special object.

Frederik Delbart (° 1988, Alken), furniture and product developer pur sang and currently creative director at the Hasselt furniture group Recor, is one of the biggest design talents in our country and has been chosen as Designer of the Year for a good reason. A prestigious award with which he – still only 30 – can follow in the footsteps of the world-renowned designer-architect Vincent Van Duysen.
