Piet Stockmans designed this one-person dinner service in 2010 on the occasion of his 70th birthday and the large retrospective exhibition in the Design Museum Ghent. It includes a coffee cup and pot and a milk and sugar bowl with the Stockmans characteristic blue accents. Industrial designer and visual artist Piet Stockmans is the éminence grise of Limburg design and carries world fame for his porcelain.
Only 50 of this one-person set have been made. This one has number 16. The wooden box containing the porcelain set is accompanied by a signed copy of ‘Een Meesterlijk Dilemma’(° 1940, Leopoldsburg). Stockmans’ work belongs to the collections of, among others, the V & A (London), the Metropolitan Museum (New York) and the Stedelijk Museum (Amsterdam).
